DC provided by Crompton Parkinson motor generator set (located in tower); 5 3/4hp 3 phase AC motor (6.75 amp) with direct shaft drive to DC 110v 27amp generator. Comments: This is the only remaining mechanical feeder blowing plant in Northern Ireland (as far as we know). Motor generator set is started by a multistage rotary rheostat starter handle mounted on the console - this is marked to indicate to the user that the handle must be advanced over its full travel in a minimum time span of 5 seconds.
