MUSIC EXAMS

Scoring Points - Or Enlivening The Score?

For its April meeting the society has invited Dr Desmond Hunter to present a lecture/recital including a selection of organ pieces from the Associated Board syllabus Grades 5-8. As you probably know, Dr Hunter is Senior lecturer in Music at the University of Ulster and a recitalist of international standing who has given concerts in Italy, France, England and the USA.

Even if an examination is not on your horizon at the moment Dr Hunter's insights will help to refresh your approach to the music you play. And on this occasion all the music to be discussed will be within the grasp of a performer of no more than average ability - music you could use at Sunday's service.

This meeting will take place at 3 pm on Saturday 19th April in St Brigid's Church, situated at the junction of Malone Road and Derryvolgie Avenue, Belfast. The church houses a fine new Wells-Kennedy organ.
